We’ve had a “game night” for a few months now; however, we only had a couple of games – OLD trivia games that we picked up from thrift stores. Now, we have The Game of Things AND Scattergories, both by Hasbro. These games are wonderful.
The Game of Things: You won’t believe the hilarious, creative, outrageous and unforgettable THINGS your friends will say during this provocative party game! Draw a topic card and read it out loud. “THINGS a chimp thinks about when he sees you at the zoo.” Then the other players write down their own responses: “You think I’m weird looking?” “What are you looking at?” or perhaps “Are you my mommy?” Then try to figure out who said what! Remember, you can write anything that comes to mind… so be as fun as you want!
SUMMARY: It’s humor in a box! This outrageous party game includes 300 hilarious topic cards that provoke even more hilarious responses! Includes 300 topic cards, 1 response pad, 1 score pad, 10 pencils and instructions. For 4 or more players.
I can’t even explain how fun this game is. Whenever we’ve played it with our families, we’ve has some crazy answers to some of the questions!! :)
Scattergories: Right off the top of your head, can you name a sport, an ice cream flavor, and something in a pet shop, all beginning with the letter B? The trick is to take on 12 categories in 3 minutes or less and not match anyone else’s answers! So be creative and seek the unique before the timer runs out. Bungee jumping may score better than baseball, boysenberry better than black cherry. With more than 190 categories and 20 letters on the die, no game is ever the same. For crowd-pleasing, fast-thinking fun, the choice is SCATTERGORIES! Gather up some friends… ready… roll… write! Seek the unique and write words that no one else has to score big.
Check out the updated cards with fresh categories to take on! Includes 48 category cards, 6 folders, 6 plastic clip strips, answer pad, 6 pencils, 20-sided die, timer, die-rolling board and rules. Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). For 2 to 6 players. Ages 12 and up.
I have grown to love this game. You wouldn’t believe just how hard it is sometimes to name things off of the top of your head. It’s more of a challenge than I ever thought it’d be! But it’s really a ton of fun!
I’ll be completely honest, Joshua and I are like any couple, we have our arguments. Yet, now that we have Game Night, we don’t argue as much. Sometimes, whenever one of us are in a bad mood, we simply say “How about game night tonight??” and everything’s back to normal again. I know it sounds crazy and probably like I’m being dishonest, but it is true. And it’s something that I really enjoy.
These games are great. They’ve brought Joshua and I to a whole new of fun, brought our families even closer together, and have given us an “excuse” to not be so serious about life. We’re able to let all of the stresses run off while we have our fun with Hasbro Games.
And guess what? Hasbro is going to lgive one of my readers a game to start them on their own game night!!
