The Juppy: Review & Giveaway

Alright, I know that I haven’t been able to keep up with my blogging very much here lately, but in case you didn’t know, Aliya is 7 months old, as of today! She’s scooting around backwards and trying to learn to crawl. She’s growing up so quickly – it is absolutely amazing how fast time seems to be going. Aliya loves to stand, it’s so cute, but she’s a little wiggle-worm. Although I assumed it would be really hard, now as a single mother, to help Aliya learn to balance and everything, but it’s much easier than I had expected now that I have The Juppy.

Now, many of you have children, from newborns to adults, and so I hope that you’re all paying close attention when I tell you this – THE JUPPY REALLY DOES HELP! The Juppy is walking aid that helps your baby learn their balance and how to walk, without hurting the parents’ back by bending over.

Needless to say, most parents are very willing to bend down to help their babies learn to walk – it’s just another sacrifice that we make for our children – I figured it was something that was inevitable… Until I receive The Juppy in the mail!

The Juppy does the following:
  • Teaches baby balance and confidence.
  • Reduces the chance of accident and injuries.
  • The only baby walker that fits in a purse!

And I have been able to see each of these things, in real life. I carry The Juppy around in my diaper bag, but sometimes when I don't take my diaper bag places, I really do just put it right into my purse! Aliya is in it all of the time, and she has yet to fall down - it makes catching her so much easier than if I am just holding her hands. And she doesn't run into things like when I had her in a regular walker.

No kidding, I am so thankful that I was able to receive The Juppy. It's helpful to, both, Aliya and me. Teaches her and relieves me from spending so much time crouched over to help her.

The Juppy is available in black, pink or blue. I chose the pink. Also, with The Juppy, you have the option of getting a name monogrammed on it.

Also, on Aliya's Juppy, we were able to have her name (or nickname, in our case) put on it. Although you can not see it in the pictures that I have posted, it is there. I will try to get some pictures of it on here as soon as I am able.

I believe that my favorite thing about The Juppy is that Aliya enjoys it. Aliya and I get 'mommy and daughter' time, she gets to learn things, and she is happy while she's in it. So it's a win, win, win!

WHAT YOU WIN: The winner can choose a Juppy in the color of his/her choice (pink or blue) and have a name monogrammed on it as well. That's almost a $37 value!

Short and Sweet

Well, Josh and I are getting divorced. Things had been going downhill for a while, and we've decided that there is nothing left to save.
He and I are both okay with it.

Sorry this post is so short, but I have a lot of things to get done. I will do my best to update later..

A Night of New Recipes

Last night, Joshua and I decided that we were going to try out a couple of recipes that I came across on KraftRecipes.com. We had been talking about doing this for weeks, so it was finally time to just try something.

By the way, KraftRecipes.com is a wonderful way to figure out what to make for dinner - they have this neat 'form' thing that you type in up to three ingredients that you have (or would like to use) and you decide what you want to make (Appetizer, Main Dish, Drink, Dessert, etc).. Then you hit 'Get Recipes' and it shows a list of all sorts of recipes that include the ingredients that you chose!! This 'form' thing is one of the main reasons that I use their site so often to find great recipes!

The Appetizer:

what you need

2
Tbsp. KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1/2
lb. ground beef, cooked, drained
1/2
cup chopped tomato
2
Tbsp. PLANTERS Slivered Almonds
2
Tbsp. raisins (WE DID NOT USE THESE)
1
cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided
12
medium jalapeƱo peppers

make it

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Heat dressing in medium saucepan on medium-high heat. Add meat, tomatoes, almonds and raisins; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; drain excess liquid. Stir in 1/4 cup of the cheese; set aside.
CUT each pepper in half lengthwise; remove and discard seeds. Place peppers on foil-covered baking sheet. Fill each with about 1 Tbsp. of the meat mixture.
BAKE 10 minutes; sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup cheese. Bake an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve warm.

These Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers were absolutely delicious! They were so easy to make and even better to eat! We will definitely be making these again soon.

The Main Dish:
BROCCOLI-CHEDDAR CHICKEN BUNDLES

what you need

8
boneless skinless chicken thighs (1 lb.), pounded to 1/2-inch thickness
1
cup frozen broccoli florets, thawed, chopped
1
cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
4
slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cooked, crumbled
1
pkt. SHAKE 'N BAKE Extra Crispy Seasoned Coating Mix

make it

HEAT oven to 400ĀŗF.
PLACE chicken, smooth-sides down, on work surface; top with broccoli, cheese and bacon.
ROLL up each chicken thigh tightly, starting at one short end; secure with wooden toothpicks. Roll in coating mix until evenly coated. Place, seam-sides down, in single layer in shallow foil-lined pan.
BAKE 25 to 30 min. or until chicken is done (165ĀŗF). Remove and discard toothpicks before serving.

These were fantastic! I don't know why I didn't think of doing something like this sooner. I mean, we LOVE broccoli, cheddar, and chicken - why not roll it all into one great bundle?!

This post is not sponsored in any way. I wrote this up to show that KraftRecipes.com offers great, easy recipes for everyone.

GUEST POST
Written by Sherri Hicks

The day before Christmas I turned on the news. Through my www.directstartv.com, I was brought to a touching story. When I was watching the nightly news, I was so saddened to hear a story of an entire apartment building that had burned to the ground from faulty electrical wiring. Many families were not only displaced by this tragedy, but they lost everything they owned in the blaze. What struck me the most was an interview with a single, young mother. She stood in front of the news cameras in tears as she told her story. She had worked several jobs at once over the past year to save up enough money to buy each of her kids a bicycle. She had skimped and saved, often giving up the small luxury of a meal out or a coffee so that she could put away enough money for her children’s gifts. To no fault of her own, her entire world of material possessions was gone in the blink of an eye. And even as she stood there crying, she continued to praise God that she and her children made it out of the blaze alive. With nothing more than the clothes on her back, this woman remained resolute in her acknowledgement of what is truly important in life. It’s nothing material within the four walls that we all call home. It is only those things with beating hearts that truly matter.

Become.com Review

Do you ever wish that you could shop the way that you wanted? Now, I'm not talking about wearing what you want or going to the stores that you want - I'm talking about saving money, comparing products, and searching products all at the same time. At Become.com, you can do just that - "Shopping Your Way!"

Become.com is a product search and comparison site. As if that weren't helpful enough, they even have a list of coupons that can be used on their site!

Being that my family just recently moved into our new apartment, I love checking out all of the goodies for decorating! On Become.com, I searched for French Country Bar Stool and up popped a ton of results, I was then able to compare and even able to look through the coupon page to see what price range would best suit me, along with the cutest bar stool! I also looked through many different Floral Bath Towelsby the way, I happen to LOVE bath towels, and did the exact same thing!

But maybe you're not like me, maybe you would prefer something more for outdoors. Are you looking for replacement tires for gorilla carts? Because at Become.com, they have those, as well!

Become.com is a site that I will definitely be checking back in with to find great savings and easy comparisons, simply.

This is a sponsored post, brought to you by http://www.Become.com. However, all opinions are 100% my own.

About Me

First things first, my name is Jerrica and I am the author of Something To Talk About! I have found that blogging creates a new world for me, full of friends and a heaping amount of information. I started this blog back in July of 2009, looking for giveaways and freebies, and I found an enjoyable new passion - who would have thought it?

I am a 21 year-old, Stay At Home Mom. However, before I was a mom, I was an Assistant Manager at a local shoe store. I enjoyed my job - the people coming and going, the constant 'on-the-go' feel of retail, all of it. I am a people person, to the core. Although things are totally different now that I am a SAHM, I am incredibly happy with myself and my life.

I live in Dayton, Tennessee, a small town where you can count on seeing the same people at Walmart atleast twice a month, rather you know them or not. My husband and I moved here, from an even smaller town - just over the mountain - when we had our first daughter. We now have a small apartment and are figuring our way through this Big Bad World.

I have been married to my husband since March 12, 2011. I met Joshua when I was a Senior in high school ; he helped me deliver stuff to students & teaches one day and we've had a connection ever since. He is the backbone in our marriage and believes in all that I do, even when I doubt myself. He is even the reason that I have taken on new crafting ideas.

We have one daughter - Aliya - who was born in July of 2011. I never knew how much love I had in me until I was given the opportunity to give it to this precious little girl. Now that she is here, it is hard to imagine a time before her. She is an incredibly fast learner and I await all that she has in store for me as her Mom.

We also have a puppy - Emma Lou. She is a terrier-mix and is full of energy. Just give her the chance and she will run circles around you. She tries to play with our daughter (which is too young to 'play' just yet) and is ever-so-gentle with her.
My blog is a combination of personal posts, product/service reviews, recipes, and many things in between. I do not blog to a particular demographic - this allows many different opnions, personalities, and conversations to come about on my site.
