Donsuemor Review & Giveaway - CLOSED

Sometimes I feel like the days last much too long. It’s almost like there are 48 hours squeezed into one day and bedtime never seems to get closer. On those days, I like to enjoy a nice, warm glass of hot chocolate. I suppose that you could say that hot chocolate is my escape, my relaxation. But let’s not kid ourselves here, every yummy, relaxing drink needs something to go along with it. This is where Donsuemor rocked my world.

A Bit about the Company: Starting with an original French recipe, Don and Susie Morris (Don-Sue-Mor) introduced madeleines to their Berkeley, California "gourmet ghetto" community in 1976. Together, the creative entrepreneur and the passionate baker created a treat unlike any other—a moist little cake with a fresh, unforgettable taste. Donsuemor continues their tradition of baking delicious bakery treats that bring delight to everyday life.

Donsuemor Madeleines are elegant little French cakes with distinctive shell shapes. Rich and buttery with a unique flavor and texture—soft and moist with lightly crisped edges—they are made with the finest quality, all natural ingredients.

Donsuemor’s allowed me to review their Variety Pack – Elegant Gift Box. If you want to talk about delicious, let’s get talking about Donsuemor’s fantastic Madelines! Mmm. I had never had a Madeline before, so I was slightly skeptical to try it, but boy-oh-boy was I glad that I did. In the gift box that I received there was an assortment of 16 Madelines: Tradtional, Chocolate, Lemon Zest, and Dipped Chocoalte – 4 of each type. Each Madeline comes individually wrapped, which I loved! Hands down, my favorite was the lemon zest, which is odd being that I don’t typically care for lemon flavored things.

Being that the package came with four of each flavor, I shared with my mom, dad, and of course, Joshua. We all got to try one of each flavor. Everyone loved them! My mom said “Those are the best cookies that I’ve ever tasted – did they send extra?!” Don’t let that statement go unnoticed – my mama has a sweet tooth and is always munching on cookies and candy, and yet she said they were the absolute best she’d ever tasted! These little Madelines were perfect for my overly long day. They were such a delicious treat that went so well with my hot chocolate. For a little while, I was able to forget that I had a house to clean and shopping to do.

Now, don’t let me give you the idea that Donsuemor only sells Madelines. Along with Madelines, they also offer French Almond Cakes, and Cute Cakes! Everything comes in multiple flavors, except for the French Almond Cakes. You can also purchase these goodies in gift sets, as well.
